A’ja:  How long have you been a photographer, and what encouraged you to pursue it as a career?

Jordon: I’ve been a photographer for about 5 years now. I first picked up a camera in 2020 during covid lockdowns. I became interested in cameras and editing whenever I was a kid. I never saw myself to be a photographer, but I would always find myself getting inspired by cool photos that I would see on the internet. I started out taking photos of my friends and different views that would see on a daily basis. From there I just found myself wanting to try new things and get better at it everyday. Eventually I just fell in love with it and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.

A’ja:  As a photographer, it is essential to have your own individual editing style to help all your photos feel like it lives in “your world”; how did you come to discover your signature look in your photos?

Jordon:  I think my style of photography reflects all of the things I grew to be inspired by over the years. I’ve always loved the fisheye look in vintage magazines, old album covers, and even old movie covers. I would also get inspired by other photographers and creatives who mastered wide angle photography. Photographers like XavierLuggage, Rueguh, Devininanewdress, & Cameron Reed were some my biggest inspirations coming up in photography and definitely influenced the way I take photos today.

A’ja:  You worked with Kai Cenat earlier this year; how was the experience for you, and how did it come about?

Jordon: The experience was amazing. One day, he just randomly dm’d me on instagram saying that he wanted to work. I honestly thought it was fake at first. From there we talked ideas and got to work planning a concept for a photoshoot. I’ll always appreciate Kai for giving me that opportunity and still giving me so many opportunities to this day. I’m forever grateful for it and I thank God everyday for making that happen for me.

A’ja:  What are some of the ways you intend to push the envelope in photography and create art that will help you stand out?

Jordon:  I think photography is all about freedom. The amount of different ideas and photos you can take are endless. Photographers should always shoot what they think looks good, and not rely on others opinions. Trusting your eye, your vision, and also having fun with it will always make you stand out and that’s what I intend to keep doing as well.

A’ja:  Your photographs have a cinematic vibe. Have you ever considered making short films or filming movies in the future?

Jordon:  Definitely. Short films & vlogs are next on the list for me. I’ve always been interested in videography as well as directing films. I grew up watching movies everyday and they’ve always been one of my biggest inspirations. You can expect some of that content from me in the next few years.

A’ja:  Do you want to eventually become a personal photographer, or do you want to continue shooting for a variety of clients?

Jordon:  I don’t have a preference but I would love to shoot for a variety of clients. Right now I’m just working on my craft, having fun and trusting God in the process. So whatever that brings, I’ll be more than happy with.

A’ja:  Where do you see yourself at the end of next year?

Jordon:  At the end of next year I hope to see myself fully transitioned into professional photography, owning my own photography studio, teaching classes on photography, directing & shooting films, owning my own brand, and still trusting God’s plan for me.
