Who is BbyMutha?

Brittnee Moore, better known as BbyMutha was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has lived there for most of her life. Growing up Mutha had a generally normal childhood despite her parents being separated. Her mother is a Christian and her father is a Muslim being of two different religious faiths, of course, there were disputes. Mutha recalls her mother getting vexed with seeing her daughter wearing a hijab. In school, she always acted and presented herself as herself so eventually the other kids would either alienate her or make fun of her behind her back. Still, Mutha didn't realize it was because of her individuality until High School.

High School was when Mutha was first experimented with the idea of rapping. Under the name, Cindy Kush, Mutha started rapping with her cousin but was forced to stop by her then-boyfriend because he was jealous of her abilities.

After high school, she gave birth to her first set of twins and began trying to find something she could call a passion. Mutha tried a lot of different things like working at call centers to attending a fashion school, but nothing ever gave way to something she could do for the rest of her life. At this point, Mutha became pregnant with her younger set of twins. This is when she started to reflect heavily on her life and what she wanted to do. Although all of those odd avenues never went anywhere, she could give rapping another try, and to her dismay, she realized this was what she had been looking for.

Once she decided to release music, she didn't want to go by Cindy Kush anymore because it didn't represent who she was. Therefore, as the mother of two sets of twins and people telling her she wouldn't be more than someone's baby mother she dubbed the name, BbyMutha. Like most other rappers from the early 2010s, Bbymutha began to release music on SoundCloud.

Rules" was the song that introduced many people to her. Her candid details about the dating scene and the rules necessary to avoid drama, set to a gritty trap beat, made it a track that resonated with everyone. Over the last decade, the Atlanta-based rapper BbyMutha has made significant contributions to Southern rap music. Whether rapping about lighthearted topics such as dancing or addressing complex relationships, she consistently captivates and moves her audience. Her Southern rap style always shines through, whether embracing the excitement of UK Jungle on tracks like "tony hawk" from her latest project "sleep paralysis" or something more ethereal, like her feature on Raven by Kelela.

As a rapper, most would expect her to be fully in the thrills of what that life brings. More so now, in the era of female rappers being the most exciting aspect of rap music right now. However, for the most part, BbyMutha is tired of that facade because more often than not it comes with playing a part even when that's not who you are. She has been very transparent with who she is as a mother, a bisexual woman, and a person who genuinely loves making art. Although, she loves her fans especially now after taking a step from music to focus on being a mother. She doesn't love the other parts of being a recording artist.
